I have a 1983 glastron with 3.8L omc motor with 800 series sterndrive. When I first get on the lake it runs great but after an hour it starts to idle rough and is hard to start. I'm new to owning a boat and would like to fix myself if possible.
I have a 1983 glastron with 1981 omc i/o, I want to change the oil in the sterndrive but not sure what to use. It looks like the same oil would be used for the upper and lower unit. There are 4 plugs 2 on the upper and 2 on the lower. I think i've got how to replace the oil just not sure what...

It is an electric choke. It has the dial where it reads lean or rich. I had to lean it out as it was not opening fast enough and would flood the carb. As for the carb, I only see one screw that is at located in the front towards the bottom...
I have a 1983 OMC 3.8 litre inboard that dies out when it is idling. It is a little hard to start but I think that is because of the choke. When it starts it idles rough and it seems that it just needs the idle adjusted. Here are the ser and model #'s
