    Hi I need some info on the turbo hot shot. The boat is a 14ft jonboat (wide) with a casting deck added, powered by an 1981 35hp evinrude. The pitch i'm looking for is 15". So how much of an improvement in mph am i looking for with this prop. Thx

    Mercury vs evinrude

    And I'm currently thinking about upgrading my merc 18xd (18hp) with a 35hp evinrude. The outboard will be use on a 14ft x 6ft wide jonboat with decking. The boat weight about 500lbs with TM ands battery and 800 lbs with me and fishing gears ands stuffs. The max speed is 22 mph with a 13"...

    Is my mercury 18XD prop or flywheel rated

    I got a mercury 18XD s/n 7220795 i beleive it's a 1984. I wonder if the horsepower is prop or flywheel rated. And if i use a 14" pitch prop will i gain some top end speed vs a 13".
