    They are going to pull the boat out of the water again and have it looked at. Seems weird that the same thing would be happening to both prop pockets at the same thickness if it's not the faring. If it's the faring, going to have it fixed. If not, will keep looking.

    Thanks for the replies. My surveyor believes it's fairing coming loose and didn't flag it as red on the report. Owner is going to have it looked into

    I had a boat surveyed and one of the issues the surveyor mentioned was the faring is coming loose on the edges of the prop pockets (see photos). Is this something that should concern me or is it a normal thing that shouldn't get worse?

    I will throw this out there just for a very easy check. Most likely not your problem but I once had intermittent starting issues. My kill switch clip must have been barely opening the circuit. It would normally start right up but if I turned engine off, many times it would not start back up...

    1998 Volvo 5.7L GS. Noticed one exhaust manifold too hot to touch although engine temp gauge never goes about 175. Went to replace impeller and it had many pieces missing and looked like it was melted in places as well. Removed impeller on other engine and same thing. Both were replaced 3 years...
