Yes the acr ground is connected with a fuse to the engine ground. Normally the green light comes on to indicate the acr has tripped and is charging the batteries. When I was losing voltage it kept dropping and the green light was not on. Once home, I connected a battery charger to one of the...
This is how it is wired. One engine is the Inboard and one is the 9.9hp 4 stroke kicker motor. This is directly from Blue Sea Systems. Previously there was a ground from the house battery to the other start battery. The start battery also had a ground wire to the common ground at the back of the...
I plan on removing and having both batteries load tested to see if one is bad. When I checked the voltage with a multimeter the starting showed 12.6 and the house showed 12.3 volts, after I got home. While looking at the wiring, I had a thought. I have the inboard + and kicker motor + connected...
My boat has developed an issue that I initially thought to be a failing alternator. I have a starting battery and a house battery with a Blue Sea ACR connecting them. My electrical connections/graphs are off a fuse panel connected to the house battery. Last year while trolling my house battery...
I’m finishing up on the carb rebuild. I ran it through an ultrasonic cleaner and chased all the passages with carb cleaner and then fishing line. The choke was adjusted all the way to the right when I took it apart. According to that chart it is supposed to be 5 notches lean. Should I leave it...
Hey Scott, I took my carb apart and it has a 2.5 in it. The kit I bought has a 4.5. I’m going to try the 4.5 like you recommended, just wondering if you can explain what the difference is?
I searched on Holley for a marine kit for 75006-1 with no results. I bought the VP 21533400 after showing it cross referenced with my engine, 4.3 GL-A. We’ll see how it matches up with the parts in the carb I have and go from there.
Thanks for the tip, I have some to try that and make sure the passages are clean. I’ve seen two different recommendations on the size of the power valve, either 2.5 or 4.5 for the 4.3 GL-A engine. Not sure which is correct and what comes with the kit I ordered. One picture of the kit has two...
Thanks I’ll probably dig into it soon. The boat is in storage until April so I can’t test it out after the rebuild right away. I did get the real VP carb kit as all of the Holley ones didn’t match up with my carb number 75006-1. I’ll inspect the float for any damage, not sure what else to look...
Thank you for the insight. Every time I think I have it fixed it works for awhile and then suddenly boom it dies and won’t restart. Hoping this carb rebuild is the answer. I don’t think it’s ever been rebuilt since 2002 because the paint was all intact around the carb and when I removed it the...
I just dislike carbs. Been having issues with the engine dying on acceleration and then hard to restart. Replaced the fuel pump, ignition control module and coil. Still have to pull and inspect the fuel pickup and anti syphon valve. I have the carb pulled off to rebuild it and I put some mineral...
Can’t find much info on this but I’d like to know more if anyone has experience with it? All I can figure so far is the low pressure fuel pump would need to be replaced with something high pressure to use the Holley sniper 2. Anyone have any thoughts?
If I check my oil level on the trailer with the boat pretty much level it shows between the marks on the dipstick. If I check it when the boat is on the water, I’m over the full line because my boat sits very bow high in the water. The pic shows how far off level it sits in the water. Which is...
