    Yamaha 8HP SHIFT SHAFT- how do I disconnect it please ??

    I have tried on my YAMAHA 8HP 1989 ( LONG SHAFT )to get the LOWER UNIT OFF... :confused: After having removed all 4 bolts I can only seperate the lower unit from the rest of the leg by an inch and a half. When I try to pul it ..it causes the gear leaver to move back and forth.... Ray...
