Replaced my lower unit seal and after i reinstalled the lower unit i have no reverse ..Forward and nuetral is working fine but when i put it in reverse in goes in forward..can somebody guide me on how to fix it.. i have unbolted and turn the shift rod to the nuetral position servel...

Replaced my lower unit seal Now when i put it together ...the controls are ..nuetral is nuetral forward is forward BUT REVERSE IS FORWARD ALSO..
I know it has something to do with the positioning of the shift lever can anyone help me had the lower unit off several times still not right

im having a problem installing my lower unit. do both the shift rod and controls hae to be in nuetral ?
is their a cretain way you need to turn the shift rod (clockwise/counter clockwise to get it to the nuetral position
