I just got a used mercury 9.9hp 2stroke ( around 1995 model) and although it's start and run perfectly when cold ,after 5 min of use it won't idle!
Any ideas what can possibly be the problem?

This is the problem!
The flywheel is cover by some cams and levers required for the correct timing!

So i must always have a good battery on board!

On a small outboard you have the option to use a piece of a rope, around the flywheel, to start the engine in case the battery is off!
Can i do the same on my evinrude 90hp ocean pro?
Never need it so far but you never know!
On the outboard of a friend, the engine run for a while with a lot of sea water on the fuel system so water came into the injectors!
Is there a way to repair them or new are necessary?

I want to remove the FastTrak trim/tilt unit from my outboard (a 98 V4 ocean pro model) because i need to paint it.
I have a SELOC manual and it start the description of procedure on how to disengage the wiring.
