    Info on a 75 Merc 7.5 Lightning/Comet?

    Serial # 4090234. Just bought this for $150.00. Turns over good, feels as though the compression is really good, spark on both cylinders. Is this a good motor, will it move my 12' Aluminum well? Any info is appreciated.

    Bought this today for $150. The guy said it has not been run in two years. What should I do to get it running again? Has very good compression, and spark. Turns over nice and free.

    Evinrude Aquasonic

    Bought a 1975 Merc 7.5 today, and the guy threw in what I believe is a 1954 Evinrude Aquasonic 7.5 hp for free. The serial # is 7514-10092. Can anyone confirm the yr and hp for me. Turns over good, feels like it has real good compression.
