Alright fella's I have a 1956 35 HP Johnson that is not starting. The carburetor was rebuilt and the engine has spark. A quick shot of starter fluid will get it running and it will continue to run for a few seconds with the throttle opened all the way but then it dies. I'm at 5000' elevation...
The aluminum boat I am restoring has corrosion where the wood was touching the aluminum on the transom. There is even one spot where the corrosion went all the way through. What is the best solution to this problem? Is there something that I need to do to prevent corrosion from continuing...
I have a 1956 trailer that was made for a 16' Lonestar boat. The wheels on it look like they are beginning to do the splits. In other words the wheels are riding more on the inside tread on the tire. Is there any solution for this rather than replacing the axle?
Anyone out there know anything about replacing an impeller on an old '57 Johnson motor. How do you drop the lower unit? I haven't purchased the manual yet, but will be shortly. I have an owners manual for the '56 Evinrude Lark and it has no details on how to do this. Anyway, anyone want to...
