    Wish mine was a 22ft'r...but then it wouldn't fit in my garage. I'm on the home stretch of wrapping up my MR180. Just need to finish up the wiring and mount the motor. Looking forward to following along with your build! Happy to help wherever I can.

    I'd use screws for attaching to the deck. Rivets are great for securing the deck to the stringers/ribs, but they won't have backing to grab onto with the frame to deck attachment.

    V5's are hard to come by as it is. You may be waiting for a while to find a good deal on a 22ft OB. I'd love a big 22ft'r, but my 18ft fits in my garage and is fine for any lake/river I fish here in MN. Doesn't mean I still don't consider the >20ft Starcrafts whenever I see one pop up for sale...

    My '72 Nova was whiteboard foam, as was my '78 16SS. My '84 MR180 was pour in foam. Most pour in I have seen was in the 80's models.

    I personally would not look at a boat from the 70's/80's without expecting a transom and deck replacement. I've ripped up too many floors to discover what's hiding beneath. I also wouldn't pay anywhere close to 5K on an original 70's/80's 16SS unless it was outfitted with a newer motor/trailer...
