    Is it hard to replace a T-stat on a 1973 Evinrude 135 hp?

    My engine over heated because of a faulty water hose that connects to the left head. I need to replace a few things like the Impeller and maybe a new T-stat?

    I can't separate the lower unit - 1973 135hp

    1973 Evinrude 135 HP (I have a book but it does not help enough). I need to replace the impeller and it's my first time at giving it a try. I have all the bolts out and the lower unit drops about 1/4 inch or so but it will not separate. I need help. Thanks MM

    I have a 1973 135 HP Evinrude that impeller just fell apart which caused the motor over heat. I had the compression checked and out of the 4 cylinders on the motor 1 cylinder was very low. Should I replace the impeller or should I scrap the one thing? I know the cost of another power head is...
