Took the boat out ran great took it out the next no spark turns over plenty of fuel even tried starter fluid.... nothin just cranking ( what type distributor/ coil pack ) do I need?

Bought a boat 3 weeks ago 1990 chaparral 1800 sl had a few problems got the spark plugs replace the cars was lacking air flow timing was off got that all taken care of.... took it on the water 4 days ago ran like it was brand new today I have. No power BUT the lower an raise an trailor load...
