    1975 115 Merc, I give up! I've tried 3 differant props, I'ts always the same,I launch my 16 ft ski boat,It comes out of the hole just fine for a trip or two around the lake and thats it, party's over, she starts slippen so bad I cant get her up on plane! just like spun prop, oh well this money...

    shift shaft cam,proper placment

    I've been haven trouble getting my boat with 1975 1150 Merc up on a plane, [prop wont keep up with motor] something's slipping, I had prop checked out and it's ok but when I had lower unit off for water pump replacement a helper took my shift cam off and couldn't remember it's proper placement...

    sounds like tranny slippen [merc 1150]

    well I got my timing right thanks to you fellers but now when I throttle up it's like the prop's not keepen up with the motor,I have to accellerate slowly or the motor tack's out,I did have my bottem end out to replace waterpump, any sugestions? thanks Mudflap

    Merc.1150 timing belt installed wrong

    Just bought this boat with 1150 Merc serial number3504526,I think it's a 1975. the guy I bought it from said he replaced the timing belt and thought he got it a tooth off. I think I agree, after replacing water pump and fresh fuel I took it out for maiden voyage,It's starts in fast idle pos...
