I have a 2004 75 ETEC and it has started to stall when the engine is cold. It will always start and if I bring up the RPMs it will run ok.
Once the engine warms up a bit the problem is gone.
At all RPMs it runs strong.
Is there a cold sensor or something that needs to be cleaned?
Just bought a tinny with a 1991 30hp Mariner for the younger ones to learn boating and fish with their friends.
We are going to use Amzoil as I like its low smoke/smell.
On the label it states good for all kinds of 2 strokes even Etec.
How can they make this claim?
Did they study x100 and match...
Just bought a tinny with a 30hp mariner (30M 689 S 231319) and understand that it is Yamaha motor.
Would like to know its year and if it a A or C model.
Got a great deal and little info on the package.

I will be looking to buy a 2001 15HP tiller that is a short shaft this weekend.
Can this motor be converted into a long shaft and if so is it expensive?
As usual we are getting the motor before the tinny but this motor is a great deal.

Replacing the floor in our Crestliner Fish Hawk tiller.

I am putting a Suzuki tiller handle onto a 75HP E-TEC. I know what the Suzuki wires do, but I cannot find out what the corresponding E-TEC wires are.
The Suzuki has 5 control wires and the E-TEC has 6 wires.
I need to connect the 5 Suzuki wirers to the 6 E-TEC control plug.

We may be changing to an ETEC finally, but the handle is too long.
Our present Susuki handle is @30 inches and just right.
The new ETEC handle is @36 inches and would hit the seat. (Not a good idea!)
