If I pull the connector off the coil and measure the purple wire that should tell me if I have power going to the coil? Key in the on position or cranking...

    Coil merc 3.0

    So I am having an electrical issue and picked up a coil for my merc 3.0 (1998). I got the coil and the 2 connectors which go together when you put them on don’t fit by the metal bracket? Anyone run into this? Ideas? Do I need to somehow shave the metal bracket?
