1978 OMC 235 stern drive. stern drive stuck at down position. took apart tilt system found out tilt shaft broken. replaced tilt shaft - o rings - gasket. put everything back together. sanded down connection for solenoids and reconnected. flick tilt switch up and down still making a clicking...

i took off the tilt motor and found out that my tilt shaft is broken.
i took off clutch cap and got most part out.
now i'm stuck where the clutch gear (big brass one) don't slide out.
and i took out the c-clip from the back end and try to push the tilt shaft out from the tilt motor area...
new to boat.
took the boat out and the stern drive dont come back up.
