    5.7 mercruiser overheating

    my mercruiser 5.7 overheats when running full wot for a couple minutes i slow down to 3000 rpm the heat gauge falls back as long as i sail under 3500 rpms no problems. the moter is raw salt water cooled ,i changed the thermastat 160 still the same the engine is 1991 thanks

    1991 mercruiser alpha1 gen1

    hi i got a 91 doral with a 5.7 with alpha 1 gen 1 .in the spring i got my drive done over new seals.installed new gimbal bearing greased the ujoints.now at low speeds below 2000 rpm ,i get a rumble a little viberation when i speed up it goes away, at cruise speed there is no rumble, it is...

    1991 alpha 1

    i just got my alpha1 drive complete new seals, it was takeing water. now when i instaled the drive on the boat i cant get it to go in forward gear i get netrual , rev .but forward if i hold the cable ( cable that goes to the drive) all the way in it will lock a little bit as soon as let go...

    lowrance 3400

    hi my doral has got a lowrance computer sonar mod 3400, can the unit be turned on or off it is on as soon as i turn on my key. ijust instaled a lowrance HDS7 plotter/sounder will the tranducer from the 3400, interfare with the hds7 thanks for any info happy boating

    mercruiser lower unit alpha1

    hi not sure if this is the right placeto post for lower unit.i got 1991 doral240 ex it has a 5.7 moter with alpha 1 lower drive .will a alpha 1 gen2 lower unit fit my boat .the alpha1 gen2 is from the mercruiser factory, new with scratches on it a few chips from handling. thanks for any info

    lucat boat

    hi i am new here, iwas looking to get a 29 foot boat the make is lucat aft cab it has two diesel volvo pentas 135 turbo ,it is 1988 700 hours on the boat, the guy has not used the boat in three years ,cant find any info on the lucat boats checking out diesel power cheaper than gas powered...
