I removed old impellar and driveshaft was removed from lover unit so I could persuade the frozen impeller to come off- On reassembly I dropped the driveshaft into the lower unit but It did not engage the gear-so when you turn it clockwise does not turn the prop-its also a wee bit too high up...
I installed a new impeller in my 87 Johnson-25 hp- I started engine and no water pumped through after 30 seconds I shut down engine-took apart impeller housing and my impeller was in several pieces- give me some pointers so when I redo this next week I can be more proud of my so called skills...
I am replacing impeller and can not get the locking tab in place on the driveshaft to secure the impeller-how can this be done? my engine is a 1987 Johnson- thanks, nattyboomboom
must be pumped up often with the fuel bulb, otherwise it stalls out- she restarts after about 20 squeezes of the bulb, then runs out of fuel and stalls- any ideas about what to trouble shoot??? Thanks, NattyBoom Boom
