I have a 74' Johnson 85hp. Pushing a 15' trihaul with two people I'm getting about 4 1/2 to 5 gal per hour at 3/4 throttle. What can I do to get better gas consumption. It's Not water log and a 10gal tank it sucks. And yes it's on plane
I have a 1989 Nissan fiberglass tri haul bass boat. 15' long and 22" tall sides. The boat seems to be heavy to me. Some say it maybe water log but it has no foam in the boat and it's a small slim boat. Are they all this heavy.
1974 85 Johnson has no pee hose/hole. I don't want to drill the block so can I split the thomostat hose and put a tee in it and down size to a 1/8 or some thing like that. I don't trust the over heat light.

I have a 1974 Johnson 85 hp. When its running I have to yell to the person beside me to talk. Is there some thing I can put on the in side of the cover besides the stock foam to lower the sound of the beast of a motor behind me
1974 Johnson 85 hp. Carbs are leaking out the front side. After I run it there will be a puddle of oil under carbs with no signs of leaking from the out sides of carb. What do I need to do to fix. Do they need a full over hall.
I just got a boat with a 85 Johnson. It is titled as a 1984 Johnson 85hp. Serial numbers match. But the model number is showing its a 1974. Model number 85esl 74b. What's up with that
