I have a 1986 force 15 hp. When i pull the pull start the plastic gear does not rise up to engage the flywheel. The pull start mechanism works fine otherwise. Could it be a lubrication issue on the spindle? The neutral safety is working properly so i cant figure why it wont come up

With your help I was able to get the drain plugs free without any damage. One of the washers is shot and needs to be replaced. Are these washers specific to the chrysler force 15 hp or is there a type commonly available at the marina? 1986 Force 15
Having difiiculty loosening the drain plug screws on a 1986 Chrysler Force 15 outboard. Any suggested techniques. Also, does anyone know if i can get replacement screw/washers for them? Unable to find any parts online.
