    The serial # is 509768 all of the listed serial numbers I find are 7 numbers.

    9.8 mercury motor

    I just obtained an older 9.8 mercury outboard. I have two questions. (1) How much water should exit when the motor is running and where does it exit? I have cleaned the carb will but it will run for about 15 seconds and quit. Any suggestion. Thanks
