Maybe I can bypass the larger, unreachable pump and only use the small thruhull 600 shurflo? I never use the aerator for the livewell.
Meanwhile, after wiggling wires and cables, the bat. selector switch stays on in off position.
Pulling my hair out.
The photo is of the unknow pump, too far to reach way back in the unreachable recesses of the transom. Thank you Seaswirl Striper Company.
I have an easily accessible thruhull dual port aerator, that has two hoses; one outlet hose leading to the livewell not pictured); and from the other...
One thing after another...
My washdown pump and livewell aerator no longer have power to deliver water. The livewell never has had aeration since i got the boat a few years ago. I have a thru hull Shurflo livewell pump with dual water ports, that feed the livewell and I thought, until today...
Exhaust Manifolds and risers are new last year, torqued to specs; oil level hasn't risen or gotten milky, sparkplugs look good. I think I will hold off on removing the intake manifold (no visible hairline cracks) and, for now, put another 20 hours on the boat then send another sample. I just...
That was hellish loosening the caliper bolts that hadn't been touched in 20 years. But the job is done! I sprayed them off extra well after using the boat today. Wheel lug nuts too; those were a real pain. 6' cheater bar needed to remove. Maybe loosening them yearly would be helpful.
Thanks...
Thanks for the tip.
I watched a couple videos on changing pads. It does seem pretty straightforward.
Pads arriving this weekend and I'll give it a shot. Meanwhile I'm hosing down those rusted mounting bolts with penetrating oil. Probably haven't been touched in 20 years.
Well, as i walked out of the house this morning, on the way to test the boat issue, I noticed a couple big chunks of brake pad on the driveway. So first things first, I started a thread on that topic in the boat trailer section.
But they are completely different shape caliper body. I searched some more, and pretty sure mine is DB-35 model. Has anyone here installed pads for these? I can't find instructions anywhere for it.
I need to replace the pads. But the old manual that came with my 2003 trailer is for a DB-42 disc brake. Mine don't look like one in my manual. Can someone id these?
Those aren't cracks in the photo, they are cobwebs
Is it safe to leave the pvc reinforced clear tubing on for a few hours with the engine running, for bubble test at sea; or is that risking the tubing to fail.
Taking the boat out Monday.
Little swell or wind!
Will see what the fiber reinforced clear water line going from the thermostat to the exhaust manifold does. Going to be awkward having a fishing buddy hold open the engine cover a little bit with the wide throttle open.
At this point, I need to take a sea test and find out if the bubbles were from the garden hose hookup, or from the engine itself. 6 wind swells this week so not yet.
