I have a 2001 evinrude 175 fiht ram motor that just started leaking oil from the spot where the powerhead meets the lower unit.
The night before the trim started acting up and I had to use the manual release screw. Other than that nothing has been different. Please help
I have two 2001 evinrude 175 ficht ram motors. Started with one, now both are having issues when cold starting. They will start, run about 3 seconds then die. After about 6 or 7 tries they will finally start and stay running. For the rest of the day they start and run fine. Only seems to happen...
I have a 2001 evinrude 175 with the Ficht ram injection. It starts great when cold. But if it's hot and I turn it off it won't start for like 20 minutes. The starter will not engage it's like there is some sensor or something killing it cause it does nothing when you turn the switch.
Well today...
I am replacing the trim/ tilt motor on my yamaha 60 hp. It has 3 bolts with one in the back where you can't get to it. Is there some kind of trick to get to that bolt or do you have to pull the motor off?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
I have to replace my block on my 1999 Bayliner capri. It is a 5.0 litre 305. What is the difference in the block from a marine and a auto besides the freeze plugs?
I have 1999 mercruiser 305 5.0. It first started out by going up to like 5000 rpms at idle. The motor was idling at normal rpms but the tach said 5000. Now it stays at zero when idling. When I rev it up it goes backwards below zero all the way over to 5 or 6 thousand rpms. Is this just a bad...
I have a 1999 Mercruiser 5.0 305 engine. It starts fine, will idle for a little while then die. I can give it some throttle at first, it will rev up two or three times, then die. I have already replaced the fuel pump and water separator, fuel filter and all those goodies. Now we cannot figure...
I have a Yamaha 60 HP outboard. When I am at slow speeds or idle it wants to die. I have to flip the emergency fuel enrichment switch to get it to run at slow or idle speeds. But once I get it running I can switch the enrichment switch back to normal and give it gas and it will run fine at WOT...
I just recently bought a new boat with a 60 hp yamaha on it.
I changed the lower unit oil and it only seems to take about half a quart to fill it up.
When I try and squirt it into the top hole it pressurizes and spits back out. I got about half a quart in there. Is that all it takes?
Now we have a new problem. Boat runs great but can't start it.
The place where the starter bolt threads in to on the block broke.
I will get a picture soon. The part that is molded into the block busted on the side where you can see the threads of the bolt.
How in the world can I fix this...
I am still having a problem with my mercruiser 305. It will run at 10 mph all day long. But I can give it more throttle and it will either choke out or stay at the same rpm with the stick all the way down.
I pulled the fuel water separator and dumped it into a glass. It was clean fuel until the...
I have a 99' Bayliner capri 2050 with a 305 carburated motor.
I need to know if there is another fuel filter besides the fuel water separator and the one in the carb.
Does anyone know of another one somewhere?
Heres what happened before hand.

Now we got it all back together and took it out yesterday.
It only wants to start when I put the stick all the way down to full throttle. Then it starts up and idles great.
When I put it into gear it...
I am about to buy a 1984 23' Sea Ox. It has a 3.8 liter V-6 I/O in it currently. If I want to put a larger motor in what would I have to do and what size motor could I put in it?
