left us stranded after backfiring a couple times and stalling .. i got it started again but very hard to turn over ...died again after about 10 seconds . i have it in the driveway now but same thing ...very hard to turn over . i would be surprised if it seized as the temperature was normal...

hi all ...its been suggested to me to perform and lync and sync on my 1978 80 hp merc outboard ... i cant find the sticky with instructions on how to do so ...could someone point me in the right direction ?
just bought this boat last year... cleaned carbs and got it running after sitting for 2 years ... it ran rough for about a week and i lost spark ... after changing cdi i found it was the stator causing the problem ... changed stator and got unit running again ... now when i start it it will idle...
