    How hard to replace drive shaft?

    I have 1983-150hp v6 seahorse Johnson. Drive shaft broke. Don't know if it is above the water pump or below. Is this something a shade tree mechanic can repair or should I bite the bullet and have it repaired? How much should something like this cost in round figures
