I just went thru this on my boat, 2003 4.3L TB- V ignition. Went thru the steps and it was the ign sensor inside the distributor. Mine was the original two wire sensor so got a three wire replacement quicksilver sensor and new cap and rotor. The cap contact points were all corroded so I am not...
Correct, only three things are monitored by the alarm, this is according to the label on the throttle control. This has no plug in port to monitor engine parameters, it is before that time. My two water temp sensors in the housing has two wires on one and the other has one wire. Thanks
I am not the type to let an alarm go but when the engine and gages look to be in range I figured it must have been a switch going bad or wire off. The out drive oil was in range in the reservoir, the oil pressure increased with engine rpm, the manifolds didn't get any hotter than they normally...
Took the boat out to the lake after replacing the battery and + battery cable. Turned the run switch on located on the throttle control. Turned ign switch to on position and continuous horn went off (all is normal). Then turned ign to start and started but the alarm continued to sound. All the...
Just to let you know it was the bolt I removed from the shift linkage for the new ground wire must have slightly changed the Linkage position enough to where I couldn't move the shifter. Go figure. Moved the ground wire to a new location and all is working fine. Hope this can help someone else.
Ok guys, another issue here. Hope you can help. Engine starts fine and runs good but I cannot get the shift lever to move in forward gear or reverse. If you read the above posts I replaced the ign sensor, cap and rotor. Not sure what this would have to do with the shifter unless it is tied to...
Just wanted to double check to be sure I wasn't mis interpreting things wrong. No problem but thanks for the help anyway. Boat is running again now I just need a new battery. Cheers
I'm no expert but this is what I found on another website. I definitely have a TB-V (at least that is what is printed on the air cleaner) all factory stock. I did find the purple and white wire with a black plug in the connector. So I grounded that wire and set timing at idle which didn't take...
Just looked at I only have a green/white and red/white coming from the module going to the distributor. Is this purple / white wire somewhere else? Where is it located?
