1985 johnson v4 140hp oil running down the motor tword the lower unit. It also smokes when i first start it. The gas filter has signs of oil bleeding back in to it. I checked the cap on the oil thank and the cap is venting. I thought it was the VRO pump so i replaced it with a brand new 4 wire...
1985 johnson 140hp this motor is new to me. the motor runs well but my tech dosn't work and battery dose not charge. i was told it could be stator or rectifier. i replaced with brand new parts. no voltage coming out of stator. something wrong with the field circrut?
