So, yes the battery needs to be charged. Was doing that when I figured why not check the cranking rpm with the plugs out. 450 rpm, still no spark. Found a link to cdi electronics.com. Great info there. Disconnected the yellow wires from the regulator. We have spark. But not equally on all four...
NO spark on any cylinder. Checked the kill switch, it is working fine. I found the wires for the kill switch to each power pack. They ground when the kill switch tether is pulled and show open when the tether is reattached. Any thoughts on what would keep all fours plugs from firing?
I am looking to rebuild my 4hp.
Have been able to find everything I need except for the standard rings.
I would even go to an over sized piston and rings set but can't find either.
Does anyone have a parts source that would have rings?
I can't get the idle under 1000 rpm.
Throttle plates are closed.
I have a gap between the idle stop screw and the stop.
There is also a small gap between the primary cam and the carb cluster pin
Timing is 5deg. atdc
If I advance the timing the rpm goes up
I cleaned and rebuilt the carbs this spring, checked the timing today and replaced the plugs.
I can get it to idle fine.
But when going into gear it drops rpm till it stalls, when in the boat is in the water.
