I pulled the cylinders off tonight. I was kind of hoping to find some ring damage or something obvious to allude to the low compression. Nothing is jumping out at me that screams low compression. The piston skirts had some slight piston slap markings but nothing crazy and the cylinders don't...
From what I found last night, yes, the oil injection lines have been removed at the carb and I personally was not running premix since I didn't know.
This being the case, am I looking at engine bottom end damage?
I bought a pair of 1997 seadoo GTI's a few weeks ago and it looks like I didn't get the full story, go figure. Previous owner told me all they needed was carbon seals on each and a start switch on one. They both had new wear rings and other assorted new parts. I got new carbon seals put on and...
Another question. If I get a 454 out of a 99 Burban, will my carb intake and exhaust be a direct bolt on? As well as the drive accessories? I found said 454 for $800 in Houston and will definitely make the drive if my bolt ons will fit.
Thanks for the info y'all! I've been looking for marine engines for a while even before I got this one pulled out. Apparently people seem to think they're made of gold or something. I'll just keep looking. Might go hit the pick n pull and see what I can find.
I'm doing a full resto on a 92 Mach1 Concorde with a Mercruiser 7.4/Bravo 1. I knew the engine had some sort of water intrusion from the start due to milky oil but I was hoping it wasn't something too bad. I got the engine out of the hull finally and found out the block has a huge Crack on both...
Ohhh, ok. Thanks for the info! I think this trailer was originally set up for a cabin cruiser since the bunks are set so wide. I hadn't looked at the trailer for my last boat that closely and I just assumed that the bunks should be set flat on frame. This helps out a lot.
The bunks currently on there are roughly 5x10 and sitting flat on the 8 inch I-beam. They need to move inward on the same horizontal plane which would leave an eight inch gap to be filled. I've noticed on the link of the trailer you posted and some others I've seen that it looks like the bunks...
Hey y'all. I picked up this project boat last winter. It is a 92 Mach1 concorde at 27ft. The previous owner put it on a triple axle loadmaster aluminum trailer, but the trailer is not set up for this boat at all. It looks like the trailer was originally set up for a cabin cruiser most likely...
Well, I got the gimbal housing pulled off tonight as well as pulling the gimbal bearing. The gimbal bearing race is scored from the bearing rollers sitting in one place too long it seems and the outer edge where the u-joint bellows attaches is severely chipped and broken.
Hello all,
I picked up this early 90s Mach1 Concorde last winter. It is 27ft with a mid-cabin and open bow. It has turned into much more of a project than I had planned, but thats ok since I'm a mechanic by trade. The whole cockpit floor was rotten as well as the floor in the cabin. The engine...
