My friend said that he had a lead on it but he didn't know anything about it. Supposedly it's a 50 hp. No idea of the year.
Does that model number sound right? Because I can't find anything on google
Hello gang, A friend was recently gifted an old runabout with this motor on it. However, it needs a new bottom end. The engine runs fine. So we need to find a parts donor motor.
Knowing that they probably made this motor for a few years in a row, do you guys know what years this thing ran for...
For some reason, I can't find a spec sheet online (a couple of weeks ago I found tons of that info on google.
Is there a PDF of the 2005 merc spec sheet around?
I'm gettin' an '05 3 stroke 60 hp bigfoot and I want to know how much heavier it is than my 1985 johnson 60
I'm not really familiar with bigfoots.
I was offered a 2005 2-stroke 60hp big foot at a really great price and I have a 89 bayliner capri. The boat is more of a runabout for skiing and stuff.
The more I read about bigfoots, they seem to be made for low torque. Pontoon boats and stuff.
Does...
so I'm (most likely) buying a 1985 johnson 60hp outboard today.
But my boat (89 bayliner capri) won't be with me when I go see it. I've never bought a motor separate like this before.
so my question is this...will it definitely fit on my boat? are most transom pretty standar in shape? (it's a...
I'm gonna go look at a mid-80's johnson 60 hp twin. The dealer says that it runs really well (they all say that) and that it has power trim...but it's the old style. What does he mean by that? Is that bad?
any other opinions on these motors?
I'm looking at buying a mid 80's 2 cyl. 60. johnson. Now I grew up with a 4 cyl. merc. 50.
I'm assuming that the major differences will be smoothness. Is a 2 cyl. more likely to overheat?
I've very new to owning a 4 stroke. compared to other tillers I've owned and used (2-20) this one is a pain. It starts on the first or second pull, but getting it there can be ripe with agony. My main concern is for people like my mother who simply can't do it.
any suggestions?
I'm also new...
I couldn't find a sticky abut this.
Anyway, The other night a huge storm came up and my tin can got a lot of water. The next morning the wave overtook the transom and my 15 hp 4-stroke merc went swimming for a couple of hours.
I was wondering what tips you guys had for CPR. So far, I changed...
the owner doesn't know what year it is. He claims it's in fine shape and it actually comes with a spare for parts.
I'm interested in finding out whether or not the horsepower was measured from the prop, or the head.
If it's measured from the prop, it may be a bit too much for my boat.
thanks
My tin can ended up with a LOT of water in a storm and ended up sinking. (water crashing over the transom) Anyway, the tanks went down with it and I think they got water in them.
So now I'm stuck wondering what's the most ethical way of disposing bad gas?
Will my marina take it?
