    Water Pump Failure...?

    1980 - 80 HP Mercury. Running along today at about 4200 RPM and heard rattley sound from motor. Immediately looked back and saw that there was no cooling water stream. Shut down engine and got a tow back home. Motor rolls over as fast as always, so not seized. Questions are... (1) do pump...

    1980 80 HP Mercury - Uh Oh

    Shaft that the tilt/trim cylinder shafts bolt to has rusted off on one end...causing the cylinder to break free from the shaft. Anyone know where I can get a parts list for this, and how likely is it that I can get the old shaft out? Thanks!

    Motor in great shape...rebuilt 15 years ago, used little and babied when it was. Never any trouble until this summer. Starts good, idles good, top end is normal...but usually after motoring along for a period of time at <2000 RPM, when you try to plane off, there is a hesitation at around 2200...
