As the title states. I want to re-use the pistons but change the rods (I have 2 motors am trying to make into one). Is there an easy way of removing the pistons from the rods without damaging them? I experimented on a bad one and seemed to damage the piston trying to get the clip out.

AS the title states....I have a 175 HP lower unit and was wondering if that will work on a 150 HP inline 6 motor. Vintage is the same...
The 175hp is the 1750 motor from 1977 and the 150HP inline 6 is from 1978. Will the lower unit bolt up? If so, is the gear ratio ok?
