    9.9 1990, rude plugs to hot?

    Is to hot a plug a bad thing, this motor starts on first pull but after running to the first fishing spot, about 5 minutes, it don't want to start very well. New carb kit, the actual right main jet now, New plastic top, new lines, new fuel. Could a too hot of a plug cause this issue, pre ignition?

    On the diagrams it shows two carb to manifold gaskets but when I pulled the carb it only has one, so when I rebuilt the carb I oozed the old one because itwas on good shape. SSeems odd but should it have two and could that be the problem of my idle be really finicky

    securing an outboard

    Three months ago I had my 6 hp evinrude stolen of the back of my boat. I now have a 9.9 and I take it in every night. Is there a secure way to keep it on the boat. I notice there are holes on the screw down handles, are those for a padlock of some kind. Thanks for any input

    9.9 evinrude thermostat waterpump

    Just finally got this thing to idle and good throttle response and now there's no water coming from tell tell **** hole. Could thermostat be problem or definitely need to look at impeller. Please tell me that a malfunctioning thermostat could be the problem. That seems easy to fix.

    This is probably a stupid question. Is there a way to test a motor under torque other than taking it to the water. Tired of taking it to the water after I think I find the problem only to load it back up and haul it back, always sounds good in the tank, on the water under tourqe is a different story
