I have a 1993 90hp Johnson, Model J90TLETS. I am putting the lower unit back together and need to know which way the ring that the prop shaft carrier bolts to goes in. Should the side with the part number stamped into it face the prop, or should the numbers face forward. I think the nubered side...
I have removed lower unit, disassembled unit down to removing the (chewed up) pinion gear, pulling up on the shift rod, but cannot get the prop shaft to come out of the housing. Anything I missed? Following Clymer manual.
Also, forgot to count revolutions on shift rod removal. Any idea how far...
