UPDATE: I got my DVA in and it appears the timer base is bad. I read that you have to set the timing after changing it. How difficult is that to do? Should I take it to a shop to have that done?
Organized troubleshooting is being done. That's how I discovered the bad stator to fix the no spark issue. Doesn't matter how reliable parts are, this is a 30+ year old motor and if man made it, it will fail. Thank you for the suggestions.
Yes, I did a spark check and have spark. The engine cranks ok also. It is a CDI brand and I'll check the pins in the plug. Can any of what you're mentioning cause my issue? Thanks for the suggestions.
Yes, issue started after I replaced the stator. Water comes out of the tell tale with a strong stream. I don't think that's the issue. When I attempt to go forward, there is nothing. The engine remains on and as I push the throttle forward there is no acceleration and then it dies out.
Sorry, the powerpack was replaced last year. The stator was replaced last week. I did a compression test yesterday and the all three cylinders read 92, 93, 94. Tell tale comes off the side of the block.
