im trying to puy shutter valves in the top of my y-pipes i installed them with the shaft showing towards the top and the bushings pushed through from the inside of the pipe wich seems the only way however they dont move freely when installed they can be pushed open and closed with your finger...
I recently put some new shutter valves in my y-pipes mine were burnt and gone so i dont know what they look like the new ones are oval shaped with rubber and metal body they move freely on the pins until you install them in the pipe with the bushings then you can move them with your fingers but...
I just replaced the flappers in my Y-pipe and installed with the ears facing upwards they look like they fit right but they are stiff to move is this normal they can be moved strait up and back with your fingers but they do have resistance.
The tilt and trim wires on my 83 mercruiser are crispy going into the transom and my gage does not work i would like to replace both sets of wires i marked and removed one side sensor and can see where the wires screw on but i wonder if there is any tricks to feeding new ones in or pulling old...
