i have a 1984 evinrude 25hp engine sitting around at my house, i wanna pump it up as high as it will go without spending a fortune, or degrading engine dependability. Can i actually get anymore power and if i need to buy parts where do i buy them?
I have a 15.6' gregor boat, it is very quick tops out at close to 33mph on gps with one person in it, but my question, me and by buds went to the lake and i hooled up a tractor intertube to a rope and bas pullin um around the lake (pond), with one person in the tube i only lost about 3 or 5 mph...
How much more will i get if i just put the 35hp carb on my 25, without changing anything else. Is this possible, i dont care if it only changes it to a 28 or a 26, i just wanted to try it.<br /><br />Mike

I think i just had a major prob with my 90 evinrude 25HP engine. After testing it on my boat the engine shuts off, and steam is comming out of the exhaust (and my ears). It fires right back up and water is comming out of the pisshole but it is hotter then hell. The engine backfires a little...
My neighbor just bought a new gregor 16' boat and a johnson 30HP tiller engine,on his first trip he let his 12 year old son drive. Sad for him he went full bore into a bridge post after he lost control, the engine and boat were destroyed the lower end just fell off into the water and the boat...
What is this and do i need to do it to my engine, it runs great but it had been sitting for about 6 years un ran. It starts right up and gets with the program on my boat, but would i gain any performance by "decarbing".<br /><br />Mike
