I will have to test the spark on the plug wires when I get it back together , I took the carbs off to check float level... but last week when i used a spark gap tester everything seemed to be ok.. the red flag on the primer pump is inline with the pump
I have also read on some forums that the tilt/trim sensor on some outboard might affect the engine being in a slowmode... would this model be affected by something like that because the trim sensor on this boat has been cut off.

Thank you for your reply. The reason I asked if anyone knew it was factory ,was because there is a small brass plug that almost looks threaded from inside the cylinder almost directly inline with that hole on the crankshaft side of the block right next to the crankshaft journal.
