Hi fellas,
First time out this year in crazy chop off huntington beach, I bumped into the throttle remote box and snapped off the key in the ignition. OK, I can deal with that. But the diagram from evinrude is woefully inadequate for finding how the heck the parts fit together inside the remote...
Filled boat tanks last week-ran short of oil after partially adding oil.
Is there a test to determine if I mixed enough in when I came back later that day?
So much was happening that day I'm not sure if I completed the mix..
I am looking for a good simple , quick online source of weather probability. I have seen some of these and they're near impossible to read without a translator and a slide rule. Winter chop in socal coastal waters is sometimes way too rough to invest the time it takes to get the boat down to the...
I have a 1959 glasspar seafair sedan.
This boat came with an inner hull for flotation. It has a drain plug below the transom and an access flush plug on the floor just inside the cabin.
So I am wondering how practical it would be to fill that area with a pour-in or pump-in flotation foam...
i have an 18' cabin boat and want to set up my anchor so that i can drop it and retrieve it from one side of the the stern , while securing it somehow at the bow.
the gunnel around the cabin (about 5" wide there ) makes it too risky and difficult to edge my way around to the bow in choppy seas...
i've been boating for 6 years.
yesterday while fishing i started catching fish, one after another while drifting. i took a minute to drop anchor but, in a hurry, i just tied off at the stern cleat.
swells were splashing a bit into the splashwell, but that's no big deal, i thought.
my buddy...
what type of hull does best when fishing in chop?
in 6 years i've had 4 boats of various hull types, 16, 18 footers.
i fish the waters off socal, rarely go farther out than catalina island.
problem is when fishing deep water, we get rocked around pretty good sometimes and often ruins the trip...
these are mahogony splash rails on my '59 glasspar seafair sedan.
i removed the aluminum strip that was screwed into it and still have it, altho
it's in bad shape, eaten up pretty good from what appears to be electrolosis..
anyway, it seems to have a fiberglass base as a first coat, finished...
after servicing my '76 85hp evinrude i'm putting the flywheel back on and i realize the key doesn't want to go into the rounded slot on the crankshaft. won't even start enough to tap it in. please advise.
i'm installing 2 new gas tanks in my boat, moeller plastic tanks. on top are 2 metal fittings. one is the fill neck tube , the other is the sender unit plate.
the fill neck tube requires an earth-end ground for static elec drain off and moeller suggests i connect it to a metal surface on the...
i need to provide a solid base for these poly tanks. pics show the tank at its' correct placement as well as the angle of the gaposis needing to be filled . the foot must be supported square. the deck is fiberglass and slopes down to the left and away, and is also unevenly bowed downward in the...
HOW TO INSTALL?
i bought 2 wedge shaped fuel tanks to install against the sides of my 18' '59 glasspar. it prev had 2 bulky deckspace wasters and these resolve that problem perfectly. however...i talked to the tech engineer at the manufacturer and it seems to be the case that their recommended...
i have 2 pedestal seats (18" high) on my boat that i need to stabilize for rough water use. they are secured just fine but they sway uncomfortably when underway in the chop. any suggestions?
