    Can't get full throttle after lower unit rebuild

    I have a 1976 Mercury 700 outboad on a 24ft pontoon. I recenlty rebuilt the lower unit (replaced bearings,water pump etc. I took it out and can not get full throttle now. Is it possible that the shift rod splines are one off? If so, what is the best way to adjust this? Or is it possible to...

    1977 Mercury 700 70HP - No reverse lock

    I am in the process of rebuilding the lower unit of my Mercury 700 and can not find a reverse lock on it. No hooks, forks or cams to be found that will engage the crossbar. Am I missing something?
