    Do you think I should put the oil seal in place with gasket sealer or oiled sides? The manual states to lightly oil the bore.

    I bought kit 26-88397A1. It comes with one double lip seal. Is that all I need? I saw there’s also a larger diameter seal, but I don’t see one in my gear case. This kit comes with a large one, but I don’t know where it goes?

    Well, I was in denial, but turned out it was the upper drive seal and it looks like there was a seal out of place. Looks chewed up.

    Well I think I discovered my issue. I found an additional seal on the drive shaft below the carrier seal. I’m assuming that’s not correct? This would have prevented the carrier seal from going all the way down?

    Splines are dry, but shaft was wet to about right at base of splines and on top of pump housing all wet with oil. Also from what I can tell, it was dry around the quad ring, so I think that seal was working correctly.

    Mystery recirc line on 1992 Evinrude intruder 150

    Anyone know where this recirc line at the top of crankcase connects to? It goes to a tee. I can’t remember where it went when I rebuilt carbs. Oddly I have another 150 HP Evinrude that doesn’t have it.
