    Bilge Pumps Not Working

UPDATE: After spending some time tracking down why we had no power at the switch on the console, we located the Hour Meter/Breaker Box screwed to the rear of the boat with two breakers for the front pump and bilge. Both were popped. We effed around trying to get the front pump working...

    Bilge Pumps Not Working

Just thinking out loud here, but if the "T" had some kind of back flow prevention mechanism, that might work. That said, I don't know if such a thing might exist.

    Bilge Pumps Not Working

Thanks so much for the reply! I'm sorry if I wasn't clear. Pump #1 (storage area) does have a dedicated line to drain outside the boat. It does not appear to drain to the bilge. And, there is only one pump switch on the console. I appreciate your thoughtfulness here, and will be diving...

    Bilge Pumps Not Working

THIS is the kind of response I was hoping for. And yes, I'm comfortable attempting this, but was hoping someone may have encountered this on a similar boat to help track wiring. Ascertaining whether there's any power going to the pumps is the first priority. I'm working on the pump in the...

    Bilge Pumps Not Working

There's a switch on the console to manually turn the pump on. Unlike the other switches on the console, it doesn't have a fuse directly under it. Any ideas I where I might chase down a fuse in this scenario. Thanks!

    Bilge Pumps Not Working

Greetings, We had an unexpected opportunity to pick-up a 1989 220cc Sea Ray that has had a single owner who we've known since the boat was purchased new. It is generally good shape and has been well maintained. One issue (of several) that we are having is it has two bilge pumps (one in the...

    Bad U-Joint/Hard Going Into Reverse

Boats is listed below. I'm thinking it's time for a new u-joint as I'm getting a good rumble when I turn either left or right on-plane. I've owned the boat 12 years and have never had the lower unit off, though always maintained with yearly fluid change and grease. I am wondering though if...

    5.7L Voltage Gauge and Charging

My boat's in my sig line below. Story is haven't used boat this year until this past week and when I put it in, Voltage gauge was below 12V for most of that first ride out. Boat ran fine to begin with (battery fully charged), but when I got on plane for first time, it started to sputter. Got...

gettin' down to 26 deg F....

Re: gettin' down to 26 deg F.... Hmmm. Draining my boat once a year versus salt water operations/corrosion. Seems an easy choice to me, especially since I like to:

    Winterize 4.3L Motor

A friend knows I Winterize my boat and asked me to visit him while he does his 4.3L. Primarily for the motor (which he is interested in most), I am going to have him stabilize the fuel, run it with the water muffs, poor some 20w oil down the carb till it stalls and then drain the block using the...

Temp Sensor - knowing when it's bad?

Was watching my temp gauge while running my motor in the driveway and noted it went from 145 degrees all the way to the left. It hasn't moved since. Saw a great tip here and removed the wire at thermostat housing and touched ground and temp gauge needle moved all the way to right. Did this...

    Confirming Sensor Assembly Install

Putting new cap, rotor and sensor assembly and wanted to confirm correct connection of wires #1 and #2 in picture. I had the old style sensor in the cap and wire #2 (a ground I assume) was connected to one of the screws holding the old assembly in. The new assembly has black wire with the...

    Fuel Inlet Filter

Note my rig in the signature line. After running motor, then replacing fuel inlet filter in the carb, there was no fuel in either the inlet housing or in the fuel lines. Is that normal or might I have some fuel delivery issues?
