OK. I learned the HARD way that the mercruiser 470 is an unforgiving beast. Bought it with a rebuilt engine and thought all was well....Too bad the rebuild was required because of a bad exhaust manifold(which wasn't replaced) soooo you guessed it, I need another rebuild after unknowingly leaking...
I want to improve my battery system for shear peace of mind... I curently have one lonely car battery rated for 500cca to start my 86 mercruiser 470. This makes me very nervous, only having one battery. Especially since I am installing a new stereo system, nothing fancy or amplified, but...
