OK, I am new to this forum and new to boats. I know very little about boat motors. I recently aquired my first boat, a 1977 Evinrude 55 HP on a 16 ft fiberglass tri-hull. The engine starts up and runs fine. As soon as I move the trottle forward and it engages in drive it spits and sputters...
