That did it! My carbs are now 3/4, 3/4 and 1 turn out and my idle is 1000. My in gear rpm are still at about 900 but it goes into gear with just a little nudge (which seems normal). Tried adjusting the carb screws both ways and reducing the idle speed but I think I have the sweet spot.
I think you are right! Two of the three throttle butterflies are slightly opened whereas the top carb is completely closed. I will adjust the two bottom ones and give it a try.
Hello,
I'm wondering if there is a way to fix the kick when putting my 73 Chrysler 85HP in gear.
Timing is at 31 BTDC
Carbs mixture screws are all at 1 1/4 out
Neutral Idle is at 1500 rpm
In gear idle is at 900 rpm
If I bring the idle speed down more it'll stall sometimes
Is there anything I...
I do get those strong sparks on each plug at the correct angle. I just seem to get very small static sparks on the other plugs at the same time.. anyways, not sure I'm being clear but I'm going to try to start it like that. I'll let you know!
Hello Nordin!
So I took out the points and made sure they were opening and closing flush and readjusted them to 0.014. I set the timing to 30 Wot. I haven't yet tried to crank the engine but when I test the spark using the sparkplug I see I'm getting a very strong spark when I should but I'm...
Ok that's what I'll do. I'm going to check my points are really at 0.014 and then I'll time it at 30 degrees at wide open throttle and hopefully it'll start. I'll check back in in a few days! Appreciate your help.
The eccentric screw is up against the cam and it is perfectly horizontal. There is a slight pressure but flies are completely shut. I will go through the remote control adjustments but I think it's good. As per the manual it says WOT timing should be at 36-4 (32) but if I set it to 28-30 degrees...
