Where does everyone put a TUBE with a OB when not in use? Just wanted some opinions on what works for others for this. I've seen were it's left behind on the "WYE" rope and out of the boat to allow cruising to and from... Anyone see an issue with doing t that way?

Can anyone tell me what model of alternator I have for my Merc 165?
From what I can tell it looks like a 10SI alternator with anti spark shields in the vent holes..
Looking at it it only had one wire hooked up to the big post on the rear and a ground wire to the housing..

What are a few steps to verify my Motor is charging the battery as it should? What should the yellow wires (AC voltage be to the recifier from the stator)? Then what should I have on teh red wire going up to the control...
I replaced a faulty/cracked float bowl on the Merc850 today and it was getting a little dark and I noticed that I was getting a little spark jumping from the screwdriver to the carb idle screw when I was adjusting it.
