Engine: Mercruiser 470 (MCM470), s/n 5892137
This engine starts fine and runs great when first started. The WOT RPM's are 3800-4200 and it hits 4000 at WOT, about 35 mph and performs great. After I run it for about 15-20 minutes, if i come down to idle speed and then try to go back to WOT...
My engine is an 84 Mercruiser 470 with a Rochester 2GC carburetor.
I disassembled the choke and pump rods on the carb. I can reassemble the pump rod but can't remember how the idle speed stop lever, choke rod, and throttle body assembly all go together to operate the choke. My SELOC manual...
ok, ive read walleyehed's post in the FAQ and i'd like to see if i'm understanding it correctly. I have a mercruiser 470 in an 84 century 4000. The WOT rating stamped on the engine is 3800-4200 rpm. i gathered i should run around the top of this range, so that would obviously be 4200 rpm...
