    4 cylinder pushrod cover replacement?

Thanks for al, the replies. Theres all the room in the world to get a ring spanner on the distributor bolt, so I'll have a go with that, if necessary. Have not yet given up hope that when I remove the coil and the other stuff in the way, that the cover will come out, leaving the dizzy in place...

    4 cylinder pushrod cover replacement?

For those that were asking about some pics, here’s a view of the cover, and the distributor with the cap off. There’s very little room behind it, but it might come out upwards once the coil, etc which is in the way has been removed. You can see the rusted corner (top left) if you zoom in.

    4 cylinder pushrod cover replacement?

OK cheers. Cant really see why I cant come in from the side with a flat ring spanner, unless anyone knows a good reason why not. The bolt is bound to be stuck in anyway, so more fun and games ahead!

    4 cylinder pushrod cover replacement?

So Ive got round to doing this job. Im not sure yet, but I think the distributor has got to come out; theres a thin chance that I can wiggle the cover out if I remove the ignition coil and solenoid, but Ive got to order a 12 point socket to remove all that stuff. Im in Europe and a 10mm ring...

    2 stroke longevity?

Yep. My old zxi1100 ski was running great until one day some tiny particle blocked one of the oil injection nozzles. Big end gone, piston, rings and cylinder badly scored. Not even Castrol R? I had one of those bikes, a GT185. CCI was a great system, and I cant think why Suzuki dropped it...

    4 cylinder pushrod cover replacement?

Hmm, maybe, but I have a feeling that it's rusted through at the edge / corner, so would be difficult to repair such that it would seal against the gasket. Ill have a look and post a pic, but it wont be for a couple of weeks, as Im no where near the boat at the moment.

    4 cylinder pushrod cover replacement?

Cheers, fellahs. Looks a bit cruddy at one corner, oil leak, guessing rusted through.

    4 cylinder pushrod cover replacement?

I need to replace the pushrod cover on my 3.0l engine no OL 634881. It looks like I have (just) enough room to get the old cover off, and the new one on without removing the distributor, and disturbing and having to reset the timing. Is this a reasonable way to do it, or am I going to run into...

    Mercruiser 3.0 won't "lock in"

Sorry if Im teaching you to suck eggs, and it might be a bit late now, but you are aware that the outdrive has to be filled from the bottom, by pumping the oil in, so as to avoid large air bubbles in the drive?

Another gear oil thread... 80w-90 vs. 90

Ive only ever found it once in Walmart Long Beach (just behind the airport), maybe I need to check out a different store.

Mercruiser 3.0 stalls at 1000-1500 rpm.

The accelerator pump is where Id be looking. What do you mean when you say, 'it seems to work'? You should see a jet of fuel squirting into each carburettor bore when the throttle is opened (flame arrestor / air filter off). If not, then the carb needs to come apart, be cleaned and all the jets...

Alpha I Gen II Impeller Replacement

It does, Ive just done mine. In principle its a straightforward job, was complicated in my case by having one of the top cover bolts snapping off. With hindsight, maybe I should have tried to nurse it out, using gentle heat, percussion and penetrating oil over several days, but hey... Anyway my...

    Faria Voltmeter repair possible?

The needle on the voltmeter (Faria part no VP7063A) on my 2001 Bayliner 175 is sticking, probably due to moisture. Can it be disassembled (and reassembled) for repair, or is it shot, and I so, where could I get a replacement at a reasonable price please?

This is one reason you lower the out drive...

Failing that, whenever you crank your drive up to the trailer position remove the ignition key and hang it on the throttle lever.
