I did not get a chance to properly winterize my boat. My question is the fuel I have in my tank do I need to drain out and fill with fresh fuel to avoid water intake into the engine. Before heading out in a couple months. Also do I need to do anything to the carbs also

I am looking for a mercury 150 outboard. Apon looking on ebay i found a couple but they are in Florida. I am worried about tge salt water factor since i only fish fresh water. One i asked about said it has been in both should i be concerned about this. Seller said there us no corrosion. Any advice
Well i just left local marine mechanic. Got bad news that i have a bad piston. Looking at at least $2000-2500. To repair bad piston. Replacing that piston and rings in other five. My question is would this be something i can do myself to save some money or just start looking for a new engine ...
Apon hitting the water it will not go above 2-2500 rpms. And seems to bog down at full throttle. Could this possibly be a stator issue. Or maybe one of the control boxes possibly going bad to not allow it that power to get up and go. Any advice?
Well just got a call from my marine mechanic. Gave me the bad news that my gears are shot. Said he would try and find a rebuilt gear case. Is this the same thing as the lower unit. Since this is my first boat. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Of what direction i should go from here.
