Where can I find out exactly what an engine is by it's model/serial number.... I recently bought one and know it is a 2004- 125hp/ 2 stroke- something tells me it may be one of those 2+2 engines that mercury made and no one likes... I have no idea and would like to know. :facepalm:

I am having issues with my Terrova- when I run my troller on fast speed- there is a reset switch on this device that opens up after about 1 minute or so. What is it's purpose and could it be weak? It is some sort of an overload device I assume?

I am looking to locate a schematic on how to break down a 2010 6hp 4 strk outboard motor. I have a lower cowling that has some damage and am looking to see what kind o task it is going to be to replace. How does the motor connect to the lower unit? is it a splined shaft? Anyone?
I am wondering what to do to get a 4 rivers fiberglass layout boat to plane. I have a 6 hp, 4 strke mercury on it and the boat is rated for a 2hp and I figured, this would have plenty of power to plane the boat. Guessed wrong. Tried about everything, any ideas???? :mad:
Anyone know the procedure to replace the lower cowling on a 2010 Merc 6 hp 4 stroke outboard? Needing to replace it because the motor fell off the back of the boat on the road and did a job on it. Everything else is ok and a miracle that it survived the crash. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
